2 Q's: toddle-ease cover and bum cream on cloth diapers (lori_limited)
Posted: 11:32:06 am on 2/5/2009 Modified: Never

#1)  I was just curious if anyone could tell me whether the lg AF could fit over a toddle-ease diaper? even just to make due for the time being. I have some XLG covers coming in a round about way and I'm not sure when they'll arrive. But I am in desperate need of some more absorbancy for DS at night and am trying to figure out whether to order new TE's ASAP, or wait to see if some used come up in Canada seeing as I only have the lg cover anyways.
#2)  DS has had a red bum the last couple days and I've been using a zinc cream. I just washed my diapers and saw the residue still on the liners. I'm glad at least its not right on the diapers, and I used a sunlight bar soap to scrub the liners...I think it will take it out. But I was still wondering if I should be using a more cloth-diaper-friendly cream, or perhaps use up the disposable liners I have when I need to use cream. Any suggestions? The zinc works well enough for him, and I have some to use up, but don't want to do it at too high a cost (I never use it right against the diapers!).
Thanks!!!

I always have really great luck with aquafor. The baby version and the adult version are the same, so don't get suckered into buying the more expensive baby tube.
It washes out just fine. It's like a thicker version of Vaseline.
I have toddle-ease that we use at night. My hubby accidentally sometimes puts a L cover on instead of an XL, so yes they will fit. It's just very snug and you will need to do some stuffing in of gathers. But in a pinch, yes it will fit.

Ok, great, that's good to know about the toddle-ease. Is aquafor a preventative (ie. do you use it daily), or do you use it to treat rashes and redness? I've always thought that I shouldn't use Vaseline on CD except perhaps at night against a cheaper fleece liner or something. When you use the aquafor, do you use it right on your ME liners?
Thanks for your advice!

I read somewhere you have to be careful with butt creams that have cod liver oil (aparently destin can cause diapers to smell "fishy"_ otherwise I think it would be okay.

Yep, right on him. No liner. Right now he has to wear it contantly due to him healing an ouchie on his penis. I've never had any issues with it not washing out.

I have used pure shea butter and it works great, I also believe aveno or some other natural nonpetroleum based zinc cream would be okay, but I would totally stay away from desitin
