Supposedly, you can use ecover fabric softener on cloth dipes. My bamboo are soft, don't get me wrong, but I am curious if any mamas on here use it on ME and what you've found. Does it make that much of a difference? Is it safe for bamboo?

I haven't tried it, but i have heard of other mamas using it on bamboo(gm's) with great success.  I am interested to see what others say..

So I'm curious, what's the real draw of fabric softener anyway?  Obviously, it's supposed to make clothes feel softer, but I guess I don't feel like my clothes are too crunchy.  Does it help with sensitive skin, or reduce static, or???

Supposedly it just does what all other fabric softeners do for other clothes, it's just safe for CD, no repelling issues or buildup.

I don't use fabric softener on my other clothes--what benefits are there?

Diapers dried in the dryer always come out soft.  Diapers that are line dried can use the fabric softener to keep them from feeling "crunchy."

I usually dry in the dryer, and after a while, the diapers do get hard. Not hard like line drying, but still rough against delicate baby skin. I have used Ecover from time to time and it is wonderful and no problems so far with any of my diapers from it.Kathy

I use Ecover every third rinse. I am afraid of buildup. Or my bamboo getting grumpy. But the softness is amazing! So I use soapnuts & Ecover once, next time I wash just soapnuts nothing in the rinse, 3rd time I wash, I don't even use any soap at all.
But Ecover is amazing!
