I am curious as to the differences between the MEOS Bamboo's and the Sandy's Bamboos. Anyone have any experience with these two?
Thanks!

I have had cotton OS and Bamboo Sandy's. I like bamboo better. Bamboo: softer, fluffier, trimmer. Cotton: possibly more durable long term. Notice I said possibly, the jury is still out. MEOS: obviously made to fit different sized kiddos. The binding around the edges is covered and has elastic inside it. But it's not very stretchy. Center rows of snaps in middle of rise. It's a very well designed OS. Sandy's: 4 different sizes. XS, S, L, and Toddle-ease. They have stretchy gathers with elastic & serging all around the edges. They snap at both the legs & waist on the sides, more like the AF covers. They also have 1 extra layer in the soaker for more absorbency. Some people swear by the OS others like Sandy's. But with ME, you can't go wrong. |

I have both and love them both.
The OS is very trim and we use these when we want to wear jeans, or during the day. The Sandies, we wear these with pull on pants, at night, naps and when he actually tries to go potty.
I love them both. |

To me it just seems as though the Sandy's would have a better fit and contain much better due to the elastic around waist and legs. The MEOS just seem like the kid would have to be a certain size in order to fit perfectly. Or is it with MEOS the cover that does most of the "containment" work? I am getting one of each (one Small Bamboo Sandy's and One Bamboo MEOS along with a Rikki Cover and an AF Cover). I figure this is the only way I can make a real decision on which diaper I want to get an entire stash of. I LOVE the idea of the One Size fitting the whole time , but if I am gonna have a fit issue, I'd rather do the small snady's then purchase large sandies later.
Sigh...CDing can be so overwhelming...lol.
Thanks for all your help!

Honestly, they are just so different that you do really need to try them out & see. The OS really do a good job of containg BF poo. It's weird! We started out with OS and he had at least a finger width gap around each leg and we never had blowouts. I think it's that the dipe has so much area in the crotch, that it just fills it up. Instead of shooting it up the back like a tight fitting little posie. If I hadn't had to switch due to my boy's ginormous girth, OS would've worked just fine FT CD. But since I did have to switch to Sandy's, knowing now that I'd need a whole new stash at 6 months of age, I would've went with the S. Sandy's then the L. Sandy's like we have now. I do like the fit better of the Sandy's. And to me, they look cuter. We had our son's first birthday cake photo taken in just his Sandy's coverless and a cake! If you can, try them both out. You'll definately decide then. Which kind are you hoping is clean? If you tend to grab one style first more than the other style, then you know. Don't get too overwhelmed. It's just a diaper. Don't take it too seriously. |

Or do what I did and get some of both. I have mostly OS but some Sandys, and I like the variety. The S Sandys is a bit trimmer than the OS, while the L Sandys is a bit bulkier. But more absorbant, so I use it at night. I really, really, really (did I say really???) liked having mostly OS when I had two in diapers. My 32-lb and my 7-lb DSs could wear the same diaper, which was much easier on a frazzled mommy than trying to keep enough clean in each size. So much of it comes down to personal preference and I think baby's build, too. With my DS#1, we never had trouble with poop getting out of the OS only the cover. He was very chunky. DS#2 is a scrawny-chicken legs, and we do occasionally have that problem (but it gets no farther than the cover, and the trouble is that he stealth poops, then runs around, sits, etc.; it wasn't an issue at all with BF poo even though it seems like it should have been). The Sandys might do a bit better in that case--but the other day he pooped in a Sandys and I hated the fact that there was poop in all those leg gathers. For the first few months of CDing, I thought I probably should have gone with all S Sandys, but then my DS#1 outgrew them at 4.5 months and I was really glad they were the minority of my stash. Of course, DS#2 was able to wear S Sandys until at least a year, so if he'd been my firstborn maybe I'd feel differently! The important thing here is that there's no wrong answer, because the are both great diapers. |

I am only 4 weeks into CD'ing, but I will tell you my experience. I have cotton Sandys and OS, and from 8 lbs till now, I have used them both, and haven't even had either one on the tightest snaps... or the AF cover! I never had a need to make them as tight as they'll go. Only 3 times has the BF poo gotten on the AF cover slightly, and NEVER has it leaked, with either one. So, I don't think you'll have any problem with the fit of the OS, they are so well designed! I dont know about bamboo, I'm trying those next, but the cotton OS is definitely more bulky than the Sandys on a small baby cause you have to fold down the front. I like my sandys better right now, cause they are trimmer, and fit into pants better (but not great, so I have some prefolds for cuter outfits where I need less bulk).
Hope this helps a little...

| I am like sahm22 in how I use my os and sandies. onesize needs an insert once past the newborn period, if you have a very big baby you can't use the insert very well. but the one size can be the only diaper from newborn to toddlerhood. But Sandy needs two different sizes, small for the first 6 months or Large which can be started at three months to the rest of toddlerhood. I like the side snap style for sandy's but I did have one kid that the sandy looked a little funny on as it rode low on his belly. overall the sandy very cute like fat little bloommers on a baby, and the os is cute like boys underwear. |

Not to contradict the PP, but I use OS and I don't need inserts, except at night. From what I have read on the forum, it seems to be pretty standard: unless you have a heavy wetter, which definitely happens, most people find that they need inserts (or liners) only for night or situations when you can't change as frequently, like long car trips.
As for which one is better, it really comes down to personal preference and build of the baby, which is hard to predict... So it is a bit of a gamble if you buy the whole system before the birth, although we did it, bought only OS and we are very satisfied. |

| For us my little guys can wear S Sandy's starting about 4-6 weeks all the way thru potty training. So for me they are basically a one-size. Also side snaps are easier for my other children to do, they just stare blankly at a front snap with that what do I do!?! look. |
