Hello, a little OT but this is the only place where I saw a nursing pillow for twins mentioned - E-Z to nurse from Double Blessings I think. Where is the best place to get it in Canada, preferably on the internet? And is the inflatable better or is it just a space issue? It does seem big to have a huge foam pillow hanging around...

Now anybody tried small babies in the OS? with appropriate clothing like a gown over maybe? I remember a picture of a 7lbs baby in a OS, I just think money becomes more of an issue with twins...

Hello,

Our DS was 7 pounds at birth and we started using XS Sandy's and OS right from when we left the hospital. Both worked perfectly. They seemed really huge on him, but we never had a leak. We soon preferred the OS, but that's mostly personal preference. We had our DS in pajamas most of the time, so we simply used 3 month instead of newborn clothing and it fit nicely. He was rather long, though, so maybe it helped. We had a few outfits that would fit only with the XS Sandy's, so it was nice having both for that, but we didn't have them on very often anyway, and with twins (plus 2 older girls if I remember well), I suspect you won't be going out that much in the first few weeks :-)

Good luck!

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay, been away since Friday... Hmmm I can't remember where I got my nursing pillow exactly. I know it was online and I'm pretty sure it was a Canadian online company but I'm not 100% sure. This was 3.5 years ago and anything from the twins' first year is a blur! LOL!

Mine was an inflatable and although I never tried the foam, I'm very glad I got the inflatable. I liked that I could control the size/thickness of the pillow by changing how inflated it was. The biggest benefit of a pillow like that is that it's very thick/high so it puts the babies at the right height to easily reach the breast when in the football position. This way I didn't have to constantly hold their heads and had both hands free. I did have to put blankets or some clean diapers between their heads to keep them stable when they were really small. But other than that I had both hands free to latch them on etc etc...

Personally I used the x-small Sandy's then moved up to smalls and larges. But the financial aspect of that wasn't really an issue for us (and we actually did get 24 small Sandy's on loan so that helped as well) and I've just always been a Sandy's girl. But lots of people use the OS with smaller babies. If I recall correctly aavt used hers on her little one that was even less than 7lbs. It's obviously bulky but it works fine and babies grow into them in no time...

Karen.

Yep.  I used both the S Sandys and OS from 6.5 lbs without leaks on DS#2. S AFs, for what it's worth.  Somehow, they didn't look bulky on him like they did on my 8+lber DS#1.  Maybe I was just used to it, but I think for some strange reason CDs always looked bulkier on my chunkster and not on my little guy.
