  MEOS Sizing (mommyinstincts)

So, I got a MEOS dipe from a friend of mine and tried it on my little guy last night.  He is 27 pounds, totally average sized really, but it seems as though he may not fit into the OS for very long.  I didn't even have a liner in it because she didn't have one, so I feel like if I even add a liner, there is no way it will fit him!  I had the two snaps on each side snapped, I'm not supposed to go as far as only snapping ONE snap of each side am I?

Should I already be considering moving up to the Toddle Ease?

I don't think that snapping only one snap on each side would actually be a problem. Personally I could snap two, but I tend to be lazy and snap only one (even if it's on the second snap) and it never comes off. I have heard lots of mommys also talk about extender tabs that you can purchase from Mother-Ease (but you have to call as they are not on the web site). That can give you an extra inch or two I think (I haven't seen them, but someone else should be able to confirm). But you didn't mention how old your DS is so it's hard to know if you'll need Toddle-Ease. Baby's growth slows down a lot after a while and some even slim down at some point, but some more experienced mommy than me will know about that better!

Depending on how old your DS is, and his build, it's possible that that OS will fit fine until higher weights.  Right around 29 lbs or so wiht DS#1 I felt like we were really toward the end of the OS; with a liner in I had to go to one side snap (which works fine).  But although he kept gaining weight he was able to wear the OS until 34 lbs/PTing, and they fit better even as he gained weight because his build changed (this was about the time that I noticed his three thigh rolls disappearing, kind of sad . . .).
The L Sandys might be a better bet for you, though, as they are sized a bit more generously than the OS.  Do I remember correctly that you also have a roughly 20lber?  The L Sandys should work for both if that seems attractive to you at all.

Hi, I have the extenders.  I used them for a couple of months and they give you room until your child thins out (my son is now 30lbs but taller and I don't need to use the extenders like I did when he weighed less). I also find the bamboo (because of its trimness) fits more comfortably than the unbleached but I like them both for different reasons.

I felt the same way about my little big guy at around the same poundage. We sold almost all our MEOS and bought all Large Sandys. He does wear toddle-ease at night but they'd fall off if he stood up without liners in it. He's just at 35lbs. So I think toddle-ease might be a bit too big for your little big one. He can still wear his 2 OS in the diaper bag but we have to use extender tabs. On the Sandy's, he's on the innermost snaps on the waist & middle snaps on the legs.
Your babe will slow down. Average weight gain for 12-24 mos is only 2-4 lbs. Even if your kiddo is at the higher end of the spectrum, that's still well below max-OS weight limit.
Sandy's just seem stretchier, which is why we aren't maxed out on them yet. But with liners, we were.
Don't know if I helped or not. But I think toddle-ease wouldn't stay up if wet or baby walks around.
