Hi; I accidentally left a wet meos in the wetbag for like a week before I used the diaper bag again and remembered it.  Now I've soaked it in vinegar on cold for 24 hrs, followed by a hot wash with Tide and 2 rinses.  The smell lingered so I washed it again in Country Save.  It's still there.  What should I do?  Thanks!

I would try soaking it for a bit in water and baking soda ... i have found that to work pretty well on stinky diapers. some people then add vinegar to the rinse water to balance out the ph .. not sure if that is necessary but thought i would pass it along.

I think in general no matter what you're soaking in, the hotter the water the more effective the soaking agent will be.  Baking soda is sure worth a shot, as it's not going to be tough on your diaper.
There are always the big guns, like a bleach solution, but some things I'd think of trying first:
-Hang it outside on a sunny day. Or two.  UV rays are amazing things.
-Try another strong vinegar soak in hot water (maybe if you want to follow the baking soda soak?).  Or how about mostly just hot vinegar?  Again, unlikely to hurt anything except the smell.
-Soak it in hot water with quite a bit of tea tree oil.  It has some anti-bac, anti-fungal properties, and may help while not hurting.
-Try something like BacOut.  I have their carpet cleaner and have been amazed at how well it gets out even barf smell.

Been there. Done that.
For future ref: I tie my wetbag to the outside carry handles of the diaperbag. Can't miss it hanging off the side like a wet monkey. Anyways, it helps me remember and I'm a doof about remembering!
What were we talking about???....

What about boiling it?  I had to do that when I thought my daughter had a yeast infection.  It was amazing all of the soap scum and brown stuff that come out as it boiled!  Yuck!

What about Oxy-clean? Works well to remove odors and is kind of a middle ground between baking soda and chlorine bleach in terms of how strong/risky it is...

Karen.
