  ME training pants (jessmomto2)

I'm looking into training pants for my 3.5 yr old son.  He's a heavy wetter and not that interested in using the toilet so we get a lot of accidents still.  I know these aren't as absorbent as a diaper, but how absorbent are they?  If you like them for skinny, active kids please let me know.SAHM to DD (4/02) and DS (10/05), wife to Rick.

Honestly it's hard to say how they'll work for you. My son was on the skinny side as well and you couldn't keep him standing still and they worked great for him. I could trust them all the time, enough for one whole pee. They'd be soaked after a whole pee but they wouldn't leak. I would even use them for naps when I knew that he'd often wet and would never wake up just to pee.

My girls though were a different story. I don't know if they didn't fit them as well or what but they would almost always leak when they peed. I highly suspect that it's got more to do with my girls than with the training pants though because even disposable training pants would often leak! I think they just peed sooooo fast that nothing could hold it in! If I wanted to go out and not put them in a diaper I had to put them in a disposable training pant with an ME training pant on top!!!

Honestly I'd say to try one and see how you like it. Make sure you wash it a couple times in hot first to make sure the fabric is good and absorbant and then give it a whirl. With my first two children I tried tons of training pants and the ME were absolutly the best so even though they didn't work as well for my last two, I would still use them again if we had another child.

Karen.
