How much softer are the bamboo? (micheliala)

My son has very bad eczema and even though I think the terry and organic diapers are soft he just can't tolerate them. I love the fit and use of the sandys on him... should I try it in bamboo? Is it really much softer than the regular terry diapers?
tia!

The bamboo is indeed much softer than the cotton, no doubt about that. No harm in trying one but are you sure it's really the terry that's irritating the exzema and not just the wetness and/or heat of the diaper that's doing it? Have you tried some type of stay-dry liner to help keep him dry? Fleece is also very soft, and it's ability to let wetness through while remaining almost totally dry will help keep his skin dry, especially at night.

Karen.

Yes, the bamboo is way soft. Even after washing & wearing for 12 months like mine are. But a fleece liner may help like PP said. It's softer and keeps baby dry and WAY cheaper than replacing a stash with bamboo.
FYI, my peed pointed out that fleece retains heat, so for a rash the stay dry features might be negated by the heat retention factor. Just a thought. Sometimes you just have to trouble shoot and find what works & what doesn't for different situations.
But I totally do not steer people away from the bamboo. I love my bamboo Sandys.

Bamboo are very soft.  I have bamboo and cotton, both OS and Sandy's, and I just love the bamboo.  Not only are they incredibly soft but they are so much trimmer.  I like to line dry when I can, the bamboo do take longer to dry but they are even soft when they are hung on the line unlike cotton which isn't as soft after line drying as it is after drying in the dryer.  You could always try the introductory offer. Good Luck!

My son also has eczema... a bad, bad case!  I am using the bamboo Sandy's and his skin has been very happy since I started.  I was cloth diapering with organic cotton pre-folds and using Huggies part time before the Sandy's. He was getting diaper rash and mild eczema with both.

I think the bamboo is a bit better at wicking away the moisture and they are a bit more absorbant.  And yes, they are much softer! My little guy is a heavy wetter so I end up using two of the bamboo inserts overnight.  He sleeps 12 hours in his diaper and hasn't had a flare-up yet.
