In trying to deal with my stinky diapers I think I over used vinegar leading to the deterioration of my bamboo. I cant think what else it could be caused by, I've never bleached, and I'm even careful about not doing diapers following a load of whites. Now I don't know what to do if the smells come back. Anyway, just becareful with the vinegar!

How much did you use? We put some in every load, so you have me worried now!

Vinegar is an acid, but such a mild one that I would be surprised to find out that it could cause harm.  Surprised--but I'm not saying it's impossible.  I'm wondering, though, how old your bamboo are?  They earlier batches had a few problems with some bare spots developing--any chance they could be a part of that issue?

There is a "survey" thread on here posted by ME. I'd fill it out and send it via email to them and ask if you cam send them a diaper for inspection or at the very least, tell you what might be causing your bamboo issue.
They have had some of us(me included) that have problems. I posted a thread about it a while back. I asked for specific instructions of how everyone was washing & using their bamboo diapers. You could read through that and just see what you can gather about routines. I also went thru and listed what everyone had in common(wasn't much, and no not everyone used vinegar.
Mine were wear spots. Like in areas of friction. Waist & legs. You can't get that from a wash routine. That's a wear issue.

Oh, maybe it's not the vinegar. ME sent me new bamboo's when they had that original binding problem. Then when someone started saying they had bald spots, I had just noticed them too. My balding spots don't really appear in the legs that much, mostly around the back below the waist, but also near the legs, not the binding though.

I have Sandy's, not OS. I never had the bad binding issue. Mine is all wear. Around the waist & legs. Maybe if I had OS, the binding would help with the wear. Dunno. But contact ME. You can describe what it looks like to them and your washing routine. You might even try to take a pic to email them. I doubt that it's anything having to do with washing though. You can't get all your dipes to have bald spots in exactly the same locations by washing them, yet have other areas completely fine on every single diaper.
Erika from ME assured me that they will continue to monitor the bamboo situation and respond as need be. You just need to let them know you are having a problem. They take great pride on their product and stand behind their product warranty. You should be able to get 1 child birth thru PT(alot of mamas do way more than 1 child though!) with one set of dipes. If not, something is wrong. Either on our end or theirs. ME should be able to pinpoint if it's anything you're doing relatively easily by talking to you & seeing your dipes.
I'd contact ME.
