  persistent yeast diaper rash (kallabow)

My ds has a yeast diaper rash that keeps coming back. I put him in disposables this time to make sure it is completely gone, and it almost is.  I have washed the diapers in boiling water and added vinegar. I really don't want it to come back, and I read on one of the forums that sometimes it is suggested to use bleach to completely rid the diapers of bacteria. I bought some bleach at the store yesterday (it's not something that I keep around).  But I started wondering how much should I use? How many diaper at a time? And my other concern is that I have a lot of the colored diapers, it seems that bleaching them might ruin them. Any experience, suggestions, or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, i've had problems with my daughter getting yeast rashes too. I still have to put some anti fungal cream on her from time to time but you definately have to treat the diapers too not just the baby!! I didn't want to bleach either so i did some research and found out that grapefruit seed extract kills yeast and you just put about 7 or 8 drops (that's about the amount i put but you could google it to see what others did) into the washing machine. I've also tried making my own wipe solution and adding a few drops into that to keep the yeast at bay! Something else that i'll mention just in case is that i used to hop in the bath with my baby to bath her and once i stopped doing that the yeast was almost a non issue. Oh..something else i've been doing and seems to be helping is giving my daughter probiotics (but she's 16 months so i'm not sure when you can start that but they have probiotic yogurt that has a fair amount of bacteria in it) I've heard of people getting the grapefruit seed extract at walmart but i got it at Nutrition house...i also got the probiotics there too
