Ha ha. So my husband and I were talking about sposies vs. cloth diapers (we both are the only ones in our circle of friends/relatives doing (enjoying!) CDing.) well, anyway, he said "well, come to think of it if I was an old man in diapers would I want some plastic-ish, paper-ish feeling diaper that was all uncomfortable or this nice, super sweet feeling cloth next to my old man butt!?!"          --true, honey, true!!    So, we should all be very proud of our choice to help our little ones in being comfortable and taken good care of...

Funny you thought about that...

I was once at a "green living" show talking to some bamboo clothes manufacturer about my awesome bamboo diapers, and a man who overheard us asked me if I knew if they made those cloth diapers for adults... He mentioned that his mother needs diapers and hates the fact that they are disposable and go straight into the landfill. I hadn't given it a thought before, but I even suggested he should call mother-ease and ask if they could help him in any way.

Maybe some stay-at-home mother with time on her hands (!!) wants to start a bamboo cloth diapers for adults business...

Also, along those lines----Luna Pads are (I've heard) wonderful. I am reallly wanting to treat myself to a set of pantiliners. You can check out their products on lunapads.com          Basically, same benefits and 'care' as cloth diapers/wipes, etc. They are CUTE designs on a really really soft flannel type fabric and has absorbancy for heavy flow menstral days, and light, etc. Once again (like CDing) a one time investment that saves money and is better all around. And did I mention that they are cute!!!   Check em out...a lot of women commented that they actually enjoy and Celebrate their cycles now! Finally, not totally DREADING your monthly flow!!

I actually use Luna Pads... I live in Vancouver so I was able to pick them up at their office - it was really cool, there were two babies on the floor when I was there, playing in a pen or going from one worker to the other). And I received very good customer service (one of the snaps broke during first use on one of the pantyliner and they shipped me a brand new one as well as a replacement snap, in case I was willing to sew it, even though it was a few months after the purchase).

I find them very comfortable in general, but I do find that they have a tendency to shift a bit (and then become uncomfortable). But I suspect that probably depends on the shape and built of every different woman. I have used both pantyliners and regular pads, and they seem very effective. No leak, no trouble washing them (a few have a light gray stain, but I really don't care, noone sees them but me). All in all, a great product, but I wish they stayed in place better (on me), and that applies to both the pantyliners and the liners that fit inside the pad (the pad itself stays in place fine for me). Hope that helps!

The source for my prefolds actually specializes in adult cloth diapers. They also make sizes to fit adolescents--there are many situations in which a person would need a diaper/brief. For future reference, here's the website: http://www.adultclothdiaper.com/

I also use Lunapads and I love love love them! I only use my liners as back-ups for my Diva cup so I don't even have to wash or treat them like diapers. I just put them in a mesh bag in my laundry basket and then wash with whites. Even the odd time that I use a regular sized pad I do the same with no problems. Granted they are stained, but I don't really care anyway.

One tip, if you get some try to get really dark colors for the inside, hides stains better than way. You'd think that red would be good (and it's obviously better than light colors) but the stains are usually more brownish so something darker than red would be even better.

I've also heard of cloth diapers for adults. I think Kidalog has them, or at least they used to. One thing, if you're ever looking for adult cloth diapers, be careful when doing a Google search, you're very likely to come across diapers for adults that are *not* incontinent!!

Karen.

I used luna pads in the past and was unhappy with the absobency, I always leaked. I recently found the best pads ever in my opinion......they are super comfortable and super absorbant, great prices and funky patterns to choose from. She offers that (as well as incontinence pads)and so much more check it out:

I have some organic bamboo velour pads from a wahm, and they ROCK!! I only got them after Karen and a few other mamas on here recommended cloth pads, (and I got the diva too!), and they are so comfy! I'm 33weeks pregnant with baby 4, and every bladder kick I get..um...I need the back up. Laugh. They totally do the trick, and I'm not sitting in plastic every day. I always think of the women on the M/E forum as being so great for turning me to something better for my own health, let alone the environment. Cloth adult diaps..sure! When it's my turn to be ol' and grey, bring on the xxl bamboo sandys!! heeheee
