leaks, leaks, and more leaks (OLY)

My 22 month old DD is on her third pair of overalls today and I can't even tell you how many leaks there have been in the past few days. I just can't figure it out. Either all 4 of her diaper covers have failed at once or there is some other factor at work. I tried filling one cover with water and nothing leaked through. She uses MEOS with a liner in each diaper. I am trying some thirsties covers that we have but they leave terrible raw spots on her legs. It was so bad I found her standing in a puddle one day. Please help!

Here is the obvious question: could it be buildup? I don't have much experience with leaks, but buildup is one of the usual suspects, so if you haven't already, do a hot wash with no soap and verify if there are lots of bubbles when the machine is agitating. If there is, strip your diapers by washing them a few more times in water as hot as possible, with no soap and maybe some vinegar to help dissolve the buildup soap.

If not, do you use fleece liners (I think buildup can also occur in those)? Or could it be that it's time to go up one size in covers? Often, even if the cover doesn't seem tight, it can help to go up one size. I assume you make sure that no clothing is creeping out and that the diaper is not creeping out of the cover...

I don't have any other idea, but I'm sure other people will help.

I'm thinking you need to move up a size with your covers.  Usually when leaks happens like that it's because the covers aren't big enough anymore (even if you're not at the end of the weight reange)...  Give it a try and see if that helps!  Good luck!
