Bamboo not soft anymore. (Fire Dancer)

with each wash, the bamboo gets less and less soft. now i cannot even tell the difference between the cotton ones and the bamboos once they are washed. any suggestions on telling the 2 fabrics of dipes apart? i prefer to put him in a bamboo at night since he seems to like the feel of the fabric on his skin.  oh and also, how come i am not having any issues with my bamboos being damp after taking them out of the dryer like others are having? they are completely dry after 1 dryer cycle. i wash and dry all of the dipes together.

My bamboos did becomes less soft as they lost their fluff, but I could still easily tell them apart from my unbleached just by feel. Also, the tags and stitching are different. The tags are more natural colors and the unbleached have a blue whale. The bamboo also have gold serging on the edges. Oh, but this is on the Sandy's and if you have the OS, I don't know. I could still feel the difference, though. If yours are drying in one dry cycle, could it be that you may have been overdrying the others and so the extra drying time that that was there after others were actually dry is what's needed to dry the bamboo? I don't recall that I used more than one dry cycle.

hmmm. maybe so. there r 2 dry settings on our dryer, a more dry, which is marked with a raised stick on bump, and the setting used to dry the dipes. sometimes i swear that setting lasts for about 2 hours. and the less dry setting, which is not marked. i am really wishing that there were high, med, and low heat settings on the thing as i know that the covers are not supposed to be dried on high heat.  one of my covers already has a hole in it where the outside tag is and the binding and the tag are coming away from the cover. what does motherease do in this case? they sent me a replacement in ML and had me send back the torn one. i hope that they will repair it and resell it. i had no idea that the stitching on each type of dipe was different color. i just assumed that the stitching was the color of the dipe. maybe i should inspect the dipes more closely by feel rather than just snatching one from the dryer come change time because i really want to continue putting my little love in a softer dipe at night to make him more comfortable although he does not mind the other fabrics.

Although I know that it's very hard to you to determine settings on your washer and dryer, most dryers do allow you to adjust the heat level, so it's quite likely that yours does, too.  It's often a separate dial or button to press from the dial where you select more or less dry.  I thing you're in an apartment, so I don't know how much freedom you have to mark the machine, but it's worth checking with your DH or someone else who can check for sure.
Re. covers, they air-dry very quickly.  If you hang them over the shower rod, they'll probably be dry within a couple of hours.  They should last much longer that way.

Can you tell the difference by the thickness perhaps? I find the bamboo to be thinner and more floppy feeling

oh i am at total liberty to mark the apliences in this apartment. the washer and dryer i have marked with clear brailled labeling tape and raised large rubber bump dots that are roughly the size of a fingertip. the only dials on the dryer are the one to set the more dry and less dry and a turn spring loaded dial to power on the machine. i do not think that there is another setting dial. hang on let me go check. ok i just checked the dryer and there is no other dials. there is only the 2 mentioned above. there is no dial to ajust the heat setting.  and as far as feeling the difference in thickness of the dipes, that is quite a good idea. i find the bamboo more flexible myself. in a matter of fact, that is what i might ask for the upcoming holidays is 1 or 2 bamboo dipes from each person who might give him gifts. because i want to switch to all bamboo. i find it easier to manage on a baby who is constantly crawling away haha. i find them quicker to put on because of their flexibility.
