So they're replacing my whole bamboo stash for signs of early wear, but they said the elastic changed color so that shows a chemical reaction from something like bleach. I would never use bleach, and very rarely had to dunk them into the toilet (where I use a bleach like cleanser) so I'm thinking MAYBE it was from a washing machine I used at a hotel I stayed at for a few days, all my stash was washed there at least once. I guess it had residue? who knows, I still kinda am afraid of vinegar though - I think that's what did it.
Anyway they told me to use Kind detergent, and to look for it at Home Depot, thought I should pass this on for the rest of you since they're telling me to "change my wash routine". Sigh, I wish they knew exactly what it was I'm scared now I'll ruin them again. I probably wont use them on vacation anymore, or maybe really wash down the hotel washing machine tub. Maybe I'll switch to a safer non bleach toilet cleaner too. And no vinegar...hope Kind doesn't cause build up problems! |
