  XS Rikki Questions (BabyCrazy)

Hi, I ordered some Rikki xs wraps for my newborn.  She is 4wk old, about 8-8.5 lb, and just now fitting into the xs Sandy's. I ordered Rikkis for the trimmer look.  However, they are too big in the gussets around the legs, yet too snug and dig into her belly in the waist when trying to get "leak proof" for the legs.  We were going to return them to ME, but right after ordering some AF's to get quickly (I did use the XS AF on my 4th and liked them fine except poofiness)I realized my kids threw it in the hamper and they have been washed, yet never worn so I can't return them now for a refund.

Is there any one else who deals with the digging in of the velcro on the stomach?  Am I the only one who doesn't care for Rikkis one bit?  As she gets bigger, will they fit better do you think?  I am contemplating selling them used, or just keeping them and trying them later.  Any thoughts please?

I don't really like the Rikki's for the same reason as you, plus I find they do leak if you 're not careful.  The AF are so much better, and I just try to get over the puffiness.

I think your baby will grow into them.  I wasn't sure about the Rikki covers in the beginning b/c I was used to the AF covers.  My baby is in the large Rikkis, but I found she had to be a bit bigger than the rec'd size to get a good fit around the legs.

We used Rikki's in the beginning, too, but found that AFs took much less time to fasten and less guess work about tightness.  However, one thing with did with the Rikki's was to kind of angle the way we fastened the velcro so that it was snugger on the bottom (around the legs) and wider at the top.  Good luck!

I liked that the Rikkis did fit a bit more trimly, but grew to dislike them for the reasons you mention, that, and the guessing about whether the fit was right.  With the AFs, just snap, snap (snap, snap) and you know it's right and not rubbing.  Eventually, DH, who has always been completely on board with CDing, refused to use the Rikkis, and I sold them and replaced them with AFs.
That being said, I can see that the XS Rikkis could be great with prefolds for a trim fit.  If you decide to sell them, you'll obviously not be able to sell them for quite what you paid, but if you explain that they're basically new, you could probably still get a fair chunk of it.
