OT: Mama pad washing instructions (OLY)
Posted: 1:02:14 pm on 2/18/2010 Modified: Never

I have been reading up and starting to try out some cloth mama pads and was wondering if the soaking before washing is really necessary. I don't care about staining, I really just care about making sure they are clean. I have two I have started using (and like so much more than the disposable variety!)and just threw them in with my regular wash with a warm/cold cycle. Do I need to do anything other than that? thanks!

That's all I ever do with mine. I will say though that mine are only pantiliners that I use as a back-up to the Diva Cup so they're not as dirty as they could be. But I do have some actual pads that I've used without the cup and I never bothered soaking or anything. I get the feeling that the soaking is like a wet pail for diapers, it's the old fashioned way of doing things and although it might help prevent stains it's not really necessary.

Karen.
