my daughter wears ME OS with the snap in liner and a stay dry liner to bed when she wakes up in the morning her whole diaper and all the liners are soaked (never leaks) but everything is soaked... do you think I need to put another liner in to absorb more... Im just wondering if she had more absorbtion if it would help with her rash? and her night time diaper always reeks of amionia could that cause a rash too.. Ive just got done soaking her diapers in rockin green and doing a double wash any other recommendations for combating rash and stink?  thanks for your help!

Hmmm it won`t really change the amount of wetness against her skin so I doubt it would make much difference. But there`s no harm either so if it makes you feel better then go for it. Personally I always found it at least a little less unpleasant to change a nighttime diaper that had at least some dry spots so I always put more liners in that perhaps I strictly `needed`.

The ammonia could definetly be contributing or even causing the rash. If you`ve got bad ammonia I`d definetly strip them to remove detergent build-up. Wash in hot with no additives or detergent at all at least 2-3 times (check for suds and continue if you still see lots) and then you can switch to the Rockin Green. If you still see tons of suds after a couple of washes you could try soaking in a heavy vinegar concentration to sped up the process. Pour 4-6 cups (more or less - just chug lots freely from the jug) in your washer and let soak for a few hours. The mild acid will help break down the chemical bonds of the build-up so you may not have to strip as often.

Karen.
