need help on getting desitin out of a diaper. (Fire Dancer)

hi all. my son had a rash last night from prolonged urine and feackle contact without us knowing until we took his dipe off to give him a bath. the rash is gone today but i am having a problem on removing the desitin from a single stay dry dipe. how can i remove the stuff? should i soak the dipe in detergent in the sink to remove it? it is that one dipe that is effected.  i do not want to put it in the washing machine with the others until the desitin is gone. thanks.

i have tried rubbing the dipe with a stain stick, no change. same with rubbing it with a bar of soap and a vinegar soak.

I've heard some people say that scrubbing with a toothbrush can help.
Personally, I'd maybe try something like rubbing in a little bit of dishsoap and then rubbing the sides together in hot water, since combined they should help to shift the grease.  After that I'd probably just toss it in with the rest and figure that it would finish coming out over time and that there probably wouldn't be enough left to mess up the other diapers.  I'll clarify that would be my personal approach--I am not speaking with great accumulated knowledge, here, so maybe someone else can give a better suggestion.

thanks very much for the suggestions. the diapers have been washed and that one still smells like desitin.  on a similar note, that rash that my son got from prolonged contact is still there. i thought it was gone but it is not. it does not seem to bother him anymore. here is the problem. i cannot tell if the skin is scabbed or just extremely dried out. dont scabs have a certain color to them? in that case, i will have my dh look when he gets home. the whole patch of skin on both butt cheeks where the poop was is very dry and there are little bumps as well which are also dried out. should i wait for it to heal? or should i go ahead and purchase a stick of cloth diaper safe diaper rash stick from northernessence.com?  if i do that, by the time the stuff gets here, i might not have a use for it if the rash is healed by then.

I would think that you could feel an actual scab, since it would usually have a sort of an edge to it.  When my DS had a rash from sitting in acidic poop, the apots that were rashy got kind of dry and rough as they were healing.  I tended to put barrier cream on them as they were healing.  If you are looking for something you can get in the regular store, I have used Boudreaux's Butt Paste (with fleece liners, and sparingly, so I am not positive how it would be for straight contact, but have read others mention it as something they use) and some people use Desitin Creamy, which doesn't have the fish oils that the regular stuff does.  I never ordered anything special for diaper creams, just figured that used sparingly and infrequently, just about anything is probably going to be okay.

i think that is what is happening. accept the rash is not just spots. i just put some
more desitin on the dry area and man that stuff is groce. stinks like fish and gets all over everything when my son crawls away and rolls around when he has no diaper on.  i just bathed him and he smelled very nice but now he smells like stinking fish... sigh...  ETA
after a whole night with a layer of desitin all over the rash with a hemp liner to protect the diaper, the driness has significantly improved and the diaper does not have a build up. i gave him about an hour of diaper free time this morning and i think i will use some huggies baby lotion at each change to help moisen his skin again and then put some more desitin on tonight if the driness is not totally gone by this evening.  the lotion is the naturally refreshing cucumber and green tea. i loved that smell with the disposable wipes that we were using before we switched to cloth. now if only huggies sold a wipes solution that smelled like that...
