Well my DD has always been petite, but since she started walking she has slimmed out sooo much.
We've been using MEOS almost exclusively with her, but now they are drooping on her sooo bad. I have the rise folded over and the snaps to the tightest setting. They are literally falling off her and they gap at the legs.
Is there any solution besides selling my MEOS. I don't see her fitting them again till potty training, as she grows really slowly. She is 14 months and 19lbs. She is super healthy, but just has a slim build.
What would you do?? I'm upset these aren't working now, as we have 20 of them and they make up a huge portion of our stash. |

Two things: 1) Are they leaking? You don't mention what cover you're using, but often the cover will make an otherwise droopy diaper stay up and function just fine. 2) I've seen some people suggest using a Snappi to further snug up a diaper that's already on the smallest setting, so maybe that would be a way to make these work for you? |

I am using wool longies, shorties and skirties for covers, so they don't really help hold the diapers closed. The real problem is the gaps in the legs.
The diapers are absorbing pee but because of the gaps do not always hold the solids in (YUCK!).
I think I'm just going to have to buy some different fitteds. I tried a snappi like you suggested, but there were still gaps in the legs.
We've gotten a lot of use of these diapers and I'm sure we'll use them for the next kid too.

You might want to try the Sandy's. I used the One-Size for a while and I have to admit I had similar problems that sent me back to the Sandy's. They drooped a bit, there wasn't huge gaps and the waist fit tightly enough. But I did get poop leaks sometimes and it was annoying. I think part of my problem was that my kids always have very loose bms so even when they're weaned and fully on solids they still have very soft, smushy poops. So while I'd say the diapers still theoretically worked, it was still quite annoying...
Anyway, the Sandy's have tighter elastic at the legs and I think that'll make a big difference. I don't know how they'll be for the waist, I mean if the One-Size which can be worn on a newborn, is that much too big in the waist then I can't imagine that even the small Sandy's would be much better but it's worth a try... Get yourself one of the Sandy's (or a trial pack) and see if you like it.
I wonder if experimenting with how the One-Size is folded would help. I've heard of some people folding down the back of the diaper instead of the front. Maybe experimenting would help. Oh, and maybe with a liner in the diapers it would take up some space and just be generally tighter everywhere...

hey all just wanted to chip in, but not create another thread. i found these pfs on a website called bluepenguin.biz. these dipes are pretty inexpensive. $8 for contoured dipes and $4 for their pfs. and this is the cool thing. the pfs have snaps! i might buy some of those since they are so inexpensive. i was thinking about going with the sandy's with this new baby once he/she was finished with disposables a week after the birth or whenever the meconium phase stopped. might buy those pfs simply because washing and drying time will be quicker and that will be very welcome for the first few months when the newborn is going through dipes like crazy. i always thought that the OS dipes were extremely bulky for a newborn. |

| I use the MEOS exclusively and have no problems but it doesn't sound like you are using ME covers? I use Rikki and AF interchangeably. They hold the diaper in place just fine. DS is also a lil guy and no tummy. I don't have to fold over the diaper but I do snap both of the outer snaps (if that makes sense?) - the 2 snaps in the middle are not used but the other 4 are used. At 12 months, DS was probably about 18lbs and I used medium covers up until he was about 22 lbs or 17 or 18 months. |

To answer meisu, I am not using ME covers, as the elastic irritated my daughter. We don't use any covers with PUL in them. We only use wool covers, mainly knitted pants, skirts and shorts to cover up the cloth. I found it breaths so much better and her skin was a lot healthier.
I think I'm just going to try another fitted, maybe sandy's. The MEOS are just too wide on her right now in the waist, so when I sinch them in to fit her waist, it causes gaps around her legs. If I don't sinch them in, then they slowly fall down, but no gaps in the legs. Ack! Oh well, I'll put them away for the next baby. |

We have had similar problems when we tried the MEOS so we've been using Sandies and it is a much bettter fit for skinny kids!!
Oh and if it helps, my daughter is now 15 months and about 19-20lbs and wears the large sandies...
HTH!! |

I think the real advantage that the Sandys can present for skinny kids is that the waist and legs are separately adjustable, which should eliminate the issue you are having with the OS, that cinching the waist enough creates bigger leg holes. I never had this issue with my DS#1, who was very chunky, but with DS#2, a skinny fellow, we did have the occasional leg leak because of the waist/leg ratio thing with the OS. When I say leak, I mean only to the cover, because the ME covers are awesome, but I can see that if you are using a different type of cover because of sensitivity, then it becomes a much bigger deal. I third the recommendation to give the Sandys a try. |

Yup, same here, never leaked past the cover. But yeah, poop on wool would be really really annoying...

I had the same problem with both my boys. The MEOS fit too loosely at the legs, and wing droop made it worse after a few minutes of wear.
I solved the problem on the smaller setting (front folded down) by using the diaper inside out as per the nappy lady website: http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/articledetails.aspx?id=280
Keeps the legs nice and snug, and the wings never droop. Secure enough to use coverless or under wool longies. Another advantage is that I can snap in a liner while using the shorter rise. I was really frustrated with this diaper until I learned this trick. Now I live them. |

| This is a really interesting tip! I really wish I had an OS on hand to try this out with, just to have it in front on me to see how it really goes together. It makes sense that it would snug it up--thanks for posting this! |

Yeah, great tip Northwoods. I'm having trouble visualizing it though and the picture didn't get it into my apparently visualy challenged head either! LOL! Could you elaborate? I'd like to be able to explain it to someone if I ever need to. I have a friend who just had a baby and has a few of my old OS, she might need it...

Lay the diaper on the change table wrong side up (fiber content tag facing down, ME label on the wing facing up). If you are using a snap in liner, snap it on to the row with 6 snaps, which is facing up. Pull diaper onto baby. Fold the rise over as usual. Bring the wings around and snap UNDERNEATH the flap you made when folding down the rise -this is the tricky bit- it's the only way the snaps will work with everything inside-out.
I'm a newbie to this forum - is there a way for me to post a photo? |

Thanks, that makes sense, I can 'see' it better now. I know that you can post pictures as I've seen them before but honestly I don't know how... The times I've used pictures to sell diapers on the buy/sell forum I've had them hosted somewhere and just posted the link.
