| Hi, so I have a VERY chubby and long 3 month old. (21 lbs, 26 inches long) I'm wondering if it would be better for me to go with the one-size fits all, or the large Sandy's? He has very thick thighs, and a pretty round belly...any ideas? |

| Hi for my daughter who has always been chubby the mother ease OS works well and I find the air flow cover to be one of the only covers that dont leave really bad red indents in her thighs... I have tried the sandys but that is my experience with the OS |

| Personally, I'd get an intro pack of each one (call ME to ask) to see which fits better. At this point, I'd guess the OS will be a better fit, but it's hard to say. The L Sandys is a little bulkier than the OS (although if you have to fold the front of the OS over still, it may be a bit of a wash), and I found that little bit of extra bulk to make a difference in fitting my super-chunk into clothes, etc. The L Sandys is also a fantastic diaper, though, and because it's a different style, maybe it would appeal. I really think you'd benefit from seeing both and trying both on. |

| Thanks, I ended up ordering the Sandy's after calling to ask. They said the Sandy's are supposed to be a "little roomier", so I figured I'd give it a try. I also have a feeling my LO is eventually going to stretch out and probably thin out once he's active. Well hopefully they fit! Thanks for your help! |

| I'm sure the L Sandys will fit, and one plus side is that they _are_ a little roomier when your babe starts getting over 30 lbs. My DS fit into both the OS and the L Sandys at 34 lbs, still, but the L Sandys had a little more room left (fortunately, we never tested that out, as PTing came first!). |

I would guess that the L Sandy's will be better long term. Your LO is likely to be on the higher side of the growth curve for a while. Even if the diapers are a little big now, he will certainly grow into them. I have "big boys" and my 2.5 year old is 40lbs (tall and broad) and still fits easily into the L Sandy's even with a liner and a fleece (I use Toddle-ease for nights, though). I have OS as well, and they fit him with the extender tabs, but I find that with the extenders, the OS is less reliable for keeping messy BMs off of the covers. |

I have a chubby baby, though he didn't hit 21 lbs until he was 4 months old. I'd say stick with the Sandys. My guy is on the last snap for the OS diaps, and he's only 6 months old, 25 lbs. One bonus to having a big baby is that the Sandies diaps don't add that much bulk--they seem to be well-proportioned for my big guy.
Not that you asked about how to carry around a heavy wee one, but here's my two cents. I found that a mei tai carrier was a great, comfy way to carry my heavy newborn, and I expect to continue using it for a while. |

| Good point, econprofessor. I developed wrist problems from inflamed tendons from carrying and changing my porcine wonder. I didn't have any of those problems with my second son, always on the small side. Those with big babies do need to think about carrying and the strain to backs, wrists, etc. |
