  Value of used diapers (Fanfreluche)

Hello ladies,

Our second (and last) child is almost out of her newborn Sandies, and I am wondering if I should give them to friends who have a baby coming or if they're still worth something and I should sell them (or offer my friends to buy them)... I have never bought used diapers or even browsed the forum so I have no clue if it's still worth something. I thought maybe one of you could tell me?

They are 13 XS Sandys, purchased three and a half years ago and used on 4 newborns (our two and two friends). They were never bleached, but they were dried in the dryer. They are of the first generation of bamboo diapers and the binding is coming undone at the waist on a few of them, but they are still going strong... We use them on our 10 week old baby and have not had a leak yet (except that caused by grandma user error). We also have three white AF covers to go with them - used by the same number of people.

So, are they worth anything or should I just give them away? Thanks!

I recently posted some ads on this forum, diaperswappers, and craigslist to sell my used MEOS.  I didn't get much interest until I lowered the price to about half of the cost of new diapers.  Browsing the forums, I saw the same was true for most others as well.  I suppose you never know for sure what someone will pay, but it's worth a try.  Hope this helps.

I haven't spent a lot of time looking around, swapping, or selling, but it seems to me that about half the new price is a good starting point for used diapers.  If they weren't used much, a bit more, if they are in slightly less than average condition, I'd probably assume a bit less than half.  Being used for four children with a newborn-sized diaper isn't like being used for four children for the OS, for instance, since the usage window isn't that long.  I think that if you can look at them and honestly say that you would use them on another child and expect them to perform well, then I'd feel good about selling them.  Because of the wear issues, make the price a little less than half, and you might really make someone's day.
