We used just night diapers for well over a year, and I would just rinse them out in the morning and toss them in the pail for up to four days (I will confess, it probably went longer a few stinky times). I would toss them in the washer with dish cloths, face cloths (we don't use napkins, just wet cloth wipes, for the kids at the table), and anything else that could benefit, and set it for a quick hot wash, no spin. Instead of detergent, I put vinegar in the dispenser. That would leave me with sodden things rinsed with hot water and vinegar; to that I'd add all other whites and just do a hot load as usual. The hot rinse (quick wash) and vinegar are probably not necessary for all; it's just what seemed to work best for me, and I actually still do this for my dishcloths and such, as it seems to keep them better-smelling then just a hot wash. I'd probably just run them through any kind of rinse and wash with rest of the whites until there's a reason to complicate things. :-) |
