I have cloth diapered my daughter (now 22 months) since she was six months old, using a fairly minimalist stash of prefolds. Now I'm expecting again in a couple of months. I love my prefolds, but I feel like adding a little luxury to our collection. After LOTS of research, I think motherease is what I'm looking for. I am thinking of supplementing our prefolds with a dozen small sandy's and a dozen large sandy's, plus a few airflows. Before I buy, though, I have a few questions:
Which fabric? I'm not a big fan of bamboo, but I can't decide between the organic and the cotton terry. I am drawn to the organic for environmental reasons, but I think the cotton terry might hold their shape better. Which one washes better? Which one has a nicer feel?
Are the absorbent liners a good idea? I have never needed to add any doublers to my daughter's diapers -- not even overnight. Are the sandy's likely to be more or less absorbent than bummis prefolds?
Has anyone tried putting small sandy's on a newborn? Are they outrageously large? My daughter was nearly 9 lbs at birth, and I've been assuming that this baby will be around the same size.
I saw some airflow covers in a store today and was surprised at how big the sizes are. My daughter right now at nearly 2 would fit the med-large; does anyone use the large cover at all?
Thanks!
