night cloth solution for heavy wetter (fox88nurse)

Hi, I am ashamed to admit that I have only tried cloth diapering my 9 month old at night a few times and have been using disposables because they have meant more sleep for me! I really want to cloth diaper at night though and I know so many people do so there must be a way to do it and still get good sleep!
My son is about 22lbs and is a heavy wetter at night (especially on the nights he doesn't sleep as well and nurses a lot). I mostly use ME diapers so am looking for some suggestions on how to keep him feeling as dry as possible through the night. When I have tried recently to CD him at night he needs changing at least once. (should I expect that?)
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have snap ME covers and wool covers, lots of liners (some second hand ME stay dry ones I have never used), fleece liners. Just looking for suggestions on what has worked for other heavy wetters!
Thanks!
