I am new to cloth diapering...hoping to have a successful go at it with our second child.  From all I have read, it sounds like the sandys are a good diaper?  I am looking for some small sandys in good shape with covers?  Also, does anyone know if it's worth it to buy the newborn size, or will the small work ok...?

Hi Rhollo,

I've tried almost everything and Sandy's have been my favorite!

I wouldn't buy the newborn size unless your expecting a preemie...I'd use disposables for a couple weeks or flat prefolds which are inexpensive. My 8lb baby was wearing smalls by the time she was 4 or 5 weeks, and had outgrown them by six and a half months (by that time she was quite the chunker, I think they would've fit my first daughter longer than that)

Hope that helps and good luck!
Elizabeth

Personally I love my NB Sandy's. I had an 8 and a half pound newborn and she fit nicely into the NB.  The Smalls were enormous on her. They worked, but I liked the fit of the NB better.  I got most of them used, but I am glad that I have them.  Love, love, love my NB Sandy's (Bamboo).  After using my NB size, I switched to pocket diapers.

Wo, WO, WO!  Newborn Sandy's are actually quite big on a newborn unless you have an 8 or 9lb baby!
A small Sandy's would be absolutely RIDUCULOUSLY HUGE on a newborn.
Get newborns.  You can't eeven try to make them work.  Our daughter has been wearing a small Sandy's since 4 months and will likely till just around one year.  WE will also use our one-size but Sandy's are my favourite and we used them on our son as well.
If you get NB, you can find them on here used (I sold 32 of them just a bit ago) and sell them for not much less that what you paid so it is DEFINITELY a must that you get NB.  Our son was still wearing the smalls at 14 months!
